World Class CME’s National Diagnostic Imaging Symposium will bring together diagnostic radiologists for five days of subspecialty education, case-based instruction and discussion of emerging imaging technologies in December 2026.
-- World Class CME has announced that registration is open for the National Diagnostic Imaging Symposium, scheduled for December 6-10, 2026, at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Designed for radiologists in clinical practice, the meeting will address diagnostic approaches across multiple subspecialties, with dedicated lectures exploring how developments in artificial intelligence (AI), photon-counting computed tomography (CT) and other imaging technologies are beginning to affect clinical decision-making.

Radiology practice continues to change as new tools reach the reading room and the scanner suite. A review published in Radiology in April 2026 examined 458 peer-reviewed clinical studies of photon-counting CT, covering applications in cardiac, thoracic, neurovascular, musculoskeletal, abdominal and pediatric imaging. The review identified potential improvements in image quality and diagnostic performance. This is just one instance of new technologies changing the accuracy of medical imaging and, by default, the role of those working in the sector. World Class CME's National Diagnostic Imaging Symposium will explore these issues in the five-day program through workshops, lectures, and expert panel sessions.
Understanding how these new tech developments translate into daily practice is the central focus of the event. The program includes sessions on AI at the reading station, AI applications in early cancer detection, and the potential effects of AI on radiologist training. Two lectures on photon-counting CT examine its underlying technology, clinical applications and spectral capabilities. The curriculum also addresses MRI, PET scanning and cardiac CT, giving attendees opportunities to explore developments across imaging specialties.
The program includes a dedicated Ultrasound track covering applications in gynecological, gastrointestinal and genitourinary imaging, alongside the return of the Emergency Radiology track. World Class CME explains that concurrent sessions in adjacent ballrooms allow attendees to select topics relevant to their clinical work. The organization is also scheduling case-based lectures and scheduled question-and-answer periods provide opportunities to discuss diagnostic challenges and engage directly with faculty.
For the event, World Class CME designates the program for a maximum of 35 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. The credits may also apply toward American Board of Radiology Maintenance of Certification Lifelong Learning requirements, subject to applicable program criteria.
Founded in 1999 by practicing radiologist J. Timothy Blackwelder, MD, World Class CME organizes continuing medical education meetings for clinicians, with programs spanning radiology, OB-GYN ultrasound and gynecology.
